Communists gathered to support the call of the global anti war movement to demonstrate the worlds anger at the completely unjustified and disproportionate attacks by Israel. Thousands turned out in Birmingham on Saturday 17th January 2009 when communists distributed leaflets and sold Morning Stars and party material. In Wolverhampton Queens Square, on Friday 16th January, Called by UKIM, Wolverhampton Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Wolves TUC over 200 protesters gathered with candles, wearing black clothing, carrying placards - a fantastic turnout, called at short notice. To Gordon Brown,We call on you to take immediate action to end the massacre and humanitarian catastrophe taking place in Gaza. Over 600 people have died and thousands more have been injured as a result of the Israeli attacks and invasion. This comes after almost two years of a brutal blockade by Israel. Half of Gaza’s population are children. 80% of its population were on food aid before the air strikes and invasion. We the undersigned call upon you to use all your influence to ensure:
